Spring Break

For my spring break I was mostly in Montreal and Quebec City Canada. It was pretty interesting, but
didn't do much because of the short amount of time and that it was so cold.

Here are some pictures:

A Cute Polar Bear!

I been getting into video games recently by either playing more or watching videos on youtube about video games either info, reviews, or walkthroughs. There was a museum in Quebec City where they had displayed old games to modern games. Of course it was sponsored by Ubisoft and the first Sculpture you see is Assassins Creed 3's character. It was really fun to play Legend of Zelda Link to the Past. I tried to play Final Fantasy 7, but it was confusing because it was all in french and Mario 64 but I think someone glitches it so I left after 2 seconds. And I played Assassins Creed 4, but I felt uncomfortable to kill anyone because there was a few kids around me so.... I'm pretty sure they turned off the blood, when I was playing the game at home, yes i have a copy and I was playing it at museum, I saw there was a button to turn off the blood... okay thats kind of weird when its not much graphic to begin with, or at least comparing it to other gory games.

I kind a want to do fan art video game franchises, maybe I will do that some time, when I'm not busy with homework. Next post will be upcoming projects to come....

Airstream Travel Poster

I know I haven't update in awhile, so I'm going to try again and update a lot more this year...so far its been hard to get used to. So this is the new project I was working on.

If you can't tell this is an airstream. Every major in CCAD has to work on something with the airstream. Our project was to create a travel poster.

 Sketches

 More Sketchs

Holy Cow thats a lot of Sketches!

This is the last I swear....

Then there are larger sketches and shade studies

Then a few basic color studies

In the end I choose the first big sketch of the Airstream but showed the back instead of the side.

The whole idea was to places that you can go with an airstream. Airstream users has traveled to many places and I wanted the puddles to reflect on that. I also loved the shapes that I saw in posters like the 1950s Disney's Tommorrowland and National Park Posters

Next is to vector all the shapes in illustrator with the pen tool, add text, and color.

I had to add more shapes in the Airstream because it didn't give much of shine airstream is well known for. I also had to redraw some of the places.

So here is the finished poster!

I promise I will upload more stuff. I have a few more projects starting already and I'm heading to Montreal for Spring break so there will definitely be pictures.

I love doing portraits, mostly just drawing them, but its nice to paint one once in awhile. So for Illustration Composition class we had to do two portrait paintings. One that is glazed and the last one is Alla Prima all of them in acrylic paints.

Youtube Channel Young & Broke

I did a small job for my cousin, Meg, and her friend, Deanna, youtube channel. Their channel is called Young & Broke. Its about two collage students trying to raise money and spend in unique way. There are some successful weeks or down right failed ones. It is a funny youtube channel to watch.

Here is the process:

I got an email this morning about the decision they picked. I didn't have any problems until we tried to upload it to youtube. And Oh my gosh that is a pain in the but. It makes no sense at all! You are required to have a size but thats not the size of the youtube header no they want you to crop it to a smaller size but it has to be big as the required size because of the Tv screen option, which you can not change. But we final got it to work:

Go watch their videos!

A Long midterm week...

Its been a long midterm week and weekend before just finishing final projects. Then presenting all of projects on Wednesday and Thursday. Final get to have a break, except for my 4-6 page paper on Plato.

I am proud of my Illustration digital the most. Even though i am not a big fan of the movie Tangled I like how the design came out. So here is the run down on the project details

First we need picked a art theme from the "magical" red bucket. Its either a good topic you pick out or a bad one. So I got 1960s Psychedelic movement. Here are some example works I found that inspired me to do the piece.

 Coner

 Robert Wilson

 Peter Max

Wes Wilson

Then after doing research about the movement we have to pick a culture and a color scheme.  I picked tangled because the movement is influenced by Art Nouveau movement because of the circular linear shapes, the colors fit perfectly for it, and there is repeated patterns in the movie.
After many sketchs, I did 2 finals in Adobe Illustrator:

Then I picked the last one then fixed it up a bit to a finished product.

Hope you enjoyed it leave a comment. Now time to go back drinking Starbucks coffee and play Kingdom Hearts 3DS.
